DESCRIPTION
Hosted by Small Church USA in partnership with the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana, this retreat is designed to encourage, strengthen, and equip bivocational pastors and their wives for healthy, sustainable ministry. Join us for a time of practical leadership development, fellowship, and collaborative discussion focused on strengthening churches across Indiana. Through shared learning and meaningful connection, pastors will gain practical tools for church health and leadership while building supportive relationships and ongoing networks that encourage long-term ministry effectiveness.
REGISTRATION OPTIONS
$25 — Saturday Conference Only (Pastor and wife may both attend)
$50 — Pastor Package: Friday dinner, hotel stay, and Saturday conference
$75 — Pastor & Wife Package: Friday dinner, hotel stay, and Saturday conference
Speaker Spotlight
Terry Thompson
Terry is a high energy leader who loves life and is always on the lookout for a good adventure. Terry was lead pastor of Rock Point Church in Crawfordsville, IN for 24 years. Under his leadership Rock Point was transformed from an unhealthy, struggling church revitalization project of 20 people, to a thriving church of over 1,000 in Sunday morning worship. In 2022, Terry successfully transitioned the church to a next generation pastor. Today he is the founder of a church revitalization ministry called Small Church USA.
Mike Vauters
Mike has over 40 years of vocational ministry experience, serving most recently as lead pastor for Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lafayette, Indiana for over 25 years. After completing a multi year succession, he continues to serve as lay elder. He currently serves full-time as vice president of pastoral development for Small Church USA.
Mike and his wife, Cathy, have been married for 47 years. They both grew up in Linden (just south of Lafayette) and were childhood sweethearts. Together, they have 3 grown children who are faithfully serving the Lord, and 9 perfect grandchildren. Mike likes to be on the water fishing or skiing, enjoys anything outdoors, remodeling projects, and has been a lifelong distance runner, completing the Indianapolis mini marathon 25 out of the last 27 years.
