DESCRIPTION
When a Pastor moves on from a congregation, one of the first needs a church has is to find consistent pulpit supply and leadership during the time they are searching for a new long-term Pastor. An experienced, well-trained Transitional Interim Pastor will provide the kind of biblical teaching and wise guidance that these churches require. They can help the church celebrate its heritage, deal with grief and conflict issues, grow healthier spiritually, gain a new perspective about the importance of reaching their community for Christ, develop new leadership and a strategy for growth, choose a qualified Pastor Search Team, etc.
At the SCBI Office and your local association office, there are often more requests from our churches for experienced Transitional Interim Pastors than we have trained Interims available. Some of the topics that will be discussed are:
Understanding Pastoral Transition in the Life of the Church and the Role of the Interim
Establishing a Covenant of Relationship with the Church
Preaching as an Interim Pastor
Working with a Leadership Team in the Church
Assessing the Needs of the Church
Prioritizing and Addressing the Needs of the Church
Making Prayer a Priority in the Life of the Church
Resolving Conflict in the Church
Communicating with the Pastor Search Team
Preparing for the New Pastor and Leaving Well
