DESCRIPTION

How do we continue the pursuit of reaching the world for Christ, when the world looks so different right now?  Missional engagement can still be a central focus for you and your local church. Hear from missionaries and key missions leaders as they tackle topics that will help propel you in reaching out.  A variety of breakout conferences will be offered for adults who are looking for ways to be more active in missions and lead their church to become more missions-minded. Children Birth-6th grade will journey to Mexico City and learn all about how God is at work through our IMB Missionaries serving there.  They’ll enjoy crafts, snacks, games and incredible stories as they hear about the work in Mexico.

Special Mission Project: Christmas in August

Every year WMU and the North American Mission Board partner to select missionaries who will be featured in Christmas in August. These missionaries provide a list of items they need for ministry and outreach. The lists of requested items are posted online, and then you can select a missionary (or two or three), collect the requested items and send the items to the missionaries.  This year we want to promote blessing one of our Indiana NAMB missionaries who are featured in this year’s Christmas in August project.  Gather and bring items from the wish lists featured below with you to Missions Lifeline.

Redemption City Church

South Bend, IN 46616

Redemption City Church was planted in September of 2020 in the heart of South Bend, Indiana. During the months of August and September, we are participating in a citywide back-to-school event in which we will be handing out hundreds of backpacks in under-resourced areas of our community. This has been a hard year for many; however, in many places in South Bend, it has hit the school-aged kids in under-resourced areas particularly hard. We want to make this transition back to in-person learning as seamless as possible, hopefully removing one more hurdle to a school year of success.

Here is a list of things that would help them:

  • backpacks
  • school supplies
  • Aldi gift cards
  • Walmart gift cards
  • boys/girls hygiene products
  • Amazon gift cards
  • fast food gift cards
  • kid-friendly snacks
  • bottles of water

Embassy Church is a new multigenerational church plant with a focus on the next generation in Bloomington, Indiana. Go Hoosiers! As an outpost of the kingdom, we pray and work toward that end: that God’s kingdom would come and His will would be done in our city and on the campus of Indiana University. We believe God wants to build a better BTown, and we want to be a part of that.

One aspect of our city where we especially want to see this happen is among the homeless community. This community is rather large in our city, and we as a church family would like to engage those in it in a way that truly helps. The first step toward doing this involves learning about its true needs. To do that, we would like to put together care bags (which we are calling Better BTown Bags) that meet small immediate needs.

Here is a list of things that would help them:

  • $10 McDonald’s gift cards
  • $10 Kroger gift cards
  • Travel-sized wet wipes
  • Travel-sized deodorants
  • Travel-sized dry shampoos
  • Travel-sized toothbrushes
  • Travel-sized toothpaste
  • Nail clippers
  • Large bandages
  • Wool socks
  • Wool gloves
  • Granola bars
  • Breath mints

All SCBI Training and Ministry Events scheduled through May 15 have been canceled.
