When your church gives to the SCBI’s State Missions Offering, you are directly supporting churches and pastors in certain areas of health, multiplication, and mobilization. Healthier, growing, and sending churches will result in more people knowing Jesus Christ as Savior in Indiana and to the nations!

Dave Wilson
The SCBI named the State Missions Offering in honor of Dave Wilson because his story reflects why this offering exists and how God has worked through our churches. Saved later in life at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1997, Dave redirected the skills from his earlier career into a life of radical obedience. He served in Disaster Relief, chaplain ministry, theological and evangelism training, leading Highland Lakes Baptist Camp, and ultimately serving as a missionary in Ecuador, where he helped plant a church and trained believers to share the gospel. By placing Dave Wilson’s name on the State Missions Offering, we remember a brother whose life was transformed by the gospel and poured out for its advance. His example reminds us why we give, pray, and go: so that more people in Indiana and around the world will hear the clear message of Christ and become disciples who, like Dave, joyfully serve wherever the Lord sends them.

A gem of Southern Baptist ministry, Disaster Relief will train, credential, and prepare brothers and sisters in Christ to actively respond to the needs of those affected by the natural and man-made crisis. We support their volunteer efforts by providing administrative, organizational, and other resources necessary to make their endeavors successful. Your giving allows DR to meet the needs of hurting humanity — physically, mentally, and spiritually.
While we value our partnership with the SEND Network Indiana team, we also look at ways to support church planters in creative ways. It might be providing an extra year of residency for a planter to gain experience, or it could be to assist a planter’s family in times of need. Your giving to the SMO boosts our support of new churches and pastors to reach new people for Jesus.
We are partnering with Care to Change Christian Counseling Center to provide affordable counseling for staff ministers and their immediate family members of SCBI cooperating churches. Counseling sessions can be done at one of Care to Change’s three locations around Indianapolis, or virtually. Appointments are in a safe, confidential, and biblical environment where you can process your emotions and thoughts, take them captive to the obedience of Christ, and find healing and growth. You’re supporting ministers by providing counseling at a very minimal out-of-pocket expense.
Great Commission faithfulness requires churches to be strengthened and revitalized and that often begins with recapturing an evangelistic vision. Your SMO gifts allow us to equip church leaders with next-level strategy with our partners at Small Church USA. Your SMO gifts help us train leaders for Vacation Bible School and Women’s Ministry. Healthy churches also benefit from men who are ready and equipped to serve the church and your participation in the SMO enables your convention to convene men and equip them for ministry in their churches.
This non-degree academic program is equipping SCBI pastors, ministry leaders, and lay leaders to live out their calling to serve Jesus Christ and His church. In partnership with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) and The Caskey Center, each course offered is biblically based and administered with the highest quality and integrity by a professor from NOBTS. You’re boosting the confidence of pastors and church leaders who will have great influence for the gospel.
